Location: Garden Valley, ID ( 1hr from Boise)
Requirements
Woman, age 21 or older
Native/Fluent English Speaker
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Current Boise, ID resident (or be able to provide own transportation to Boise)
Attend a mandatory 1 hour training session in Boise on Sept 5 (time and location TBD)
All staff must check-in the night before camp at 7pm on Thursday Sept 10
Head Camp Chef (paid position)
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Camp Chef to lead our kitchen during camp. This role involves planning and preparing three meals per day for 50–70 participants while supervising a small kitchen crew. The ideal candidate has strong culinary experience, works well under pressure, and can adapt quickly to a camp-style environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan a simple, efficient 3-day menu (breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day) following a set budget
- Prepare and serve meals for 50–70 guests
- Manage and support a kitchen team of 2-3
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food handling
- Adapt meals as needed for dietary restrictions or allergies
- Coordinate meal service timing with event organizers
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience
- Prior experience in catering, batch cooking, school cafeteria, or camp/retreat settings is a plus
- Ability to manage a small team and deliver meals on schedule
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Idaho Food Handlers Permit
Compensation & Details
- 3 nights of accommodation
- All meals
- Participation in any camp activities when cooking duties are not required
- Flat compensation of $500 covering the camp dates and any needed planning time
Assistant Camp Chef (paid position)
We are looking for a kitchen assistant to help during our camp. This role involves assisting our Camp Chef with preparing three meals per day for 50–70 participants. The ideal candidate has strong culinary experience, works well under pressure, and can adapt quickly to a camp-style environment.

Camp Counselor - Cooking Instructor
- Must have an Idaho Food Handlers License
- Able to lead the following activities
- Jam Making
- Tortilla Making
- Other cooking classes as discussed
- Assist kitchen staff with cleanup after meals
